Since our inception in 2003, we have been witness to a radically changing business environment; domestically and globally. Prudential has adapted to the changes and successfully evolved and diversified.

2003

In January, our Chairman (late) Mohideen Kiyaz and CEO (current) Aslam Mohideen lit a spark of hope when they set up Prudential International Private Limited. Little did they know that this modest spark would turn into an effervescent bonfire that can be seen from the stars and beyond.

2004

After much brainstorming and researching, the duo decided on setting their sights on European products. They began with importing edge banding from Dolken in Germany and hot melt glue from Jowat which is also from Germany.

2005

With their Dolken and Jowat products being a hit in Sri Lanka and their reputation as a quality-centric company soaring, the duo decided on branching out towards importing designer kitchen hardware and high-end furniture fittings from Europe.

2006

As the next step as an established importer of world class German kitchen hardware, Prudential decided to open their own outlet in the form of an expansive design center of kitchen hardware in the blossoming heart of Colombo 03. A space where customers could walk in and “get a feel” of how the products would look and fit in a physical realm with on-hand technical assistance from dedicated personnel.

2009

Being established as a reliable importer and distributor German designer kitchen hardware & furniture fittings and having created a captivating space (outlet) to experience designer kitchen hardware, Prudential decided to experiment with creating their own brand of edge banding calling it MAAK. MAAK soon became the go-to edge banding of all PDS furniture due to its massive array of colors and textures.

2013

With the success of creating their own brand and having gained experience in the realm of niche branding, Prudential decided to integrate designer wardrobes into their comprehensive portfolio of designer kitchen hardware and interior materials. Thus becoming an all-rounder in providing designer kitchen & wardrobe hardware, high-end fabrication, and design thinking to enthrall interior design professionals and enthusiasts. This was the defining year of the next decade in Prudential’s strategy into becoming a designer kitchen & wardrobe hub in Colombo.

2015

Enter Cornish Apartments located at the esteemed Galle Face Terrace. Prudential was awarded the supply of designer kitchen hardware to the entirety of the Cornish Apartment complex.

2016

With having a motley assemblage of esteemed designer kitchen hardware and fittings imported from Germany, Prudential experimented with importing and installing eco-friendly and long-lasting AGT Panels from Turkey. The introduction of this sustainable and portable AGT paneling as a substitute for granite based countertops and transient wood based dooring led to a re-thinking in designer kitchen spaces in Colombo.

As the year progressed, Shangri-La Colombo granted Prudential with the primary supply of food waste disposable technology into their apartments. Thus began the explosive entry of North American designer kitchen brand InSinkerator into the higher echelons of Colombo living.

2017

From Germany to Turkey, Prudential has proven themselves as a purveyor of high-end designer kitchen and wardrobe hardware. Armed with international poise, Prudential decided to introduce Swedish design, engineering and manufacturing to the island of Sri Lanka in the form of Assa Abloy fittings and door hardware.

2019

Prudential opened its multistoried design space, PDS Design Center in Nawala to cater to the ever growing designer kitchen and wardrobe market of haute Colombo.Prudential has now become the primary supplier of LG HiMac® solid surfaces to the prestigious Cinnamon Life project.
